Webflow Ecommerce alternative

Keep the Webflow site. Replace Webflow Ecommerce.

Webflow Ecommerce costs $29, $74, or $212 a month billed yearly, caps the store at 500, 5,000, or 15,000 items with every variant counted, and adds a 2% transaction fee on Standard on top of Stripe’s or PayPal’s. Its subscriptions needed User Accounts, which Webflow shut off on January 29, 2026. Flint Pay keeps your Webflow design: your Buy buttons link to Flint checkout, with no item limit, no monthly fee, 3.79% + 35¢ per card payment with Stripe’s fees included, and subscriptions that ship at 0.40% of subscription payments.

03The limits

What are Webflow Ecommerce's limits?

Most stores leave Webflow Ecommerce over one of three things: the item allowance, the 2% fee on Standard, or subscriptions. Each comes from Webflow's own pricing page or Help Center.

Variants use up the item allowance. Webflow’s pricing page counts products, variants, and categories toward the Ecommerce item limit, and its help on variants says each one counts. A tee sold in 3 colors and 5 sizes is 1 product and 15 variants, so 32 designs come to 512 items: past Standard’s 500 before you add a single category. The next step up is Plus at $74 a month billed yearly. A product also stops at 3 option sets and 50 variants, so 8 colors in 7 sizes doesn’t fit on one product page.

Standard takes 2% of every order, tax included. Webflow’s help computes the fee as the order total plus taxes times 0.02, charged in addition to Stripe or PayPal. On a $50 order paid through Stripe, that’s $1.00 to Webflow and $1.75 to Stripe.

Subscriptions depended on User Accounts. Webflow required Ecommerce and User Accounts to sell a subscription, sent a buyer who wasn’t logged in to a sign-up page and an email check before checkout, created no new order when a subscription renewed, and told merchants who ship to track renewal dates by hand. Webflow set January 29, 2026 as the date User Accounts stopped working on every site. Subscribers who signed up before then are still billed in your Stripe account, but a Webflow site has no native way to sign up a new one.

04Keep the design

How does a Webflow site sell through Flint?

Webflow keeps hosting the pages you designed. Flint takes over at the Buy button: each button links to a Flint payment link, and the buyer pays on Flint's hosted checkout.

A payment link is a checkout URL you create once in the Flint dashboard. In the Webflow Designer you select a button, open its link settings, choose URL, and paste the link. On a CMS template page, add a Link field to the Collection and connect the button to it, so every product page sends buyers to its own link. A link is a plain URL, so the Webflow side needs no custom code and runs on a Premium site plan instead of an Ecommerce plan.

Each buyer who opens the link gets their own checkout and their own order in Flint, with cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, ACH debit, and Affirm, your delivery and pickup options, promo codes, and US sales tax. After paying, the buyer returns to the thank-you page you choose on your Webflow site, and Flint emails the receipt. Receipts, shipping notices, and return updates link to a hosted buyer account, where they sign in with an emailed code.

From the dashboard you can link a product, a bundle, a fixed-price item, or a subscription plan. A product with sizes or colors needs one link and one Webflow button: choose Let buyers choose on the link, and the buyer picks the size on Flint’s checkout, where a size that has run out shows Sold out. Flint’s checkout opens as a page, not inside an iframe, and serves from checkout.withflintpay.com, or from your own subdomain for $15 a month.

05Subscriptions

How do you sell subscriptions on a Webflow site now?

Create a subscription plan in Flint, make a signup link from it, and put the link behind a Webflow button. The buyer subscribes in checkout with no account to create first, and Flint charges 0.40% of subscription payments on top of the card rate.

A plan holds the recurring price, the interval, and, for a box, the products that ship. Every renewal becomes an order with its own receipt, so a coffee club or a monthly box lands in your order list each cycle with the subscriber’s address and a shipping charge, not in a spreadsheet of renewal dates. Subscribers pause, skip a cycle, cancel, or change their card in the hosted account, within limits you set.

Subscribers you signed up on Webflow are still being charged in your Stripe account. Cancel each one at the end of its paid period in Stripe and send them your Flint signup link, so the next charge comes from Flint on the day the old one would have.

What does Webflow Ecommerce cost compared with Flint?

Leaving the Ecommerce plan means your site moves to an ordinary Webflow site plan, so Flint's side below includes Premium at $25 a month. Against Standard, Flint's fees are lower on every order over $8.20, even with automatic tax on each one, and Premium costs $4 less than Standard. Against Plus, at $50 orders, Flint costs less below about $3,200 a month in sales.

Assumptions

  • Every order totals $50 including tax, is paid with a US card, and carries sales tax. International cards add 1.5% on Stripe and on Flint.
  • Webflow billed yearly: Standard $29, Plus $74, and Premium $25 a month. Webflow's 2% on Standard is computed on the order total including tax.
  • Stripe as Webflow's payment provider at its standard US rate of 2.9% + 30¢. PayPal sets its own rates.
  • Billed monthly, Standard is $42, Plus $84, and Premium $39, which moves the Plus breakeven to about $3,000 a month. Against Advanced at $212 billed yearly, Flint costs less below about $12,500.

08Switching

How do you move a Webflow store to Flint?

Build and test it in a Flint sandbox first, then switch the buttons and turn off Webflow checkout in one sitting. Your Webflow pages and URLs don't change.

  1. Recreate your products in Flint

    POST /v1/products

Create each product in the Flint dashboard with its price and photo. On the product page, Add option and Add variants give each size or color its own price and SKU, and Track stock for these variants keeps a count for each. For a large catalog, Webflow exports products and variants to a CSV file from the Designer, which a developer or an AI builder can load through the API in one pass.

  2. Create a payment link for each product

    POST /v1/payment-links

Choose Create payment link from a product's menu. For sizes or colors, choose Let buyers choose and tick the variants to offer. A link that sells tracked stock takes it from your location and stops at zero; for a product without a count, set Limit number of payments to cap a small batch. Under After payment, choose Redirect to your site and paste your Webflow thank-you page.

  3. Point your Webflow buttons at the links

In the Webflow Designer, select each Buy button, open its link settings, choose URL, and paste the link. On a CMS template page, add a Link field to the Collection and connect the button to it.

  4. Move subscriptions to a Flint plan

    POST /v1/subscription-plans

Create the plan under Subscriptions, then Create payment link from it. Cancel each old subscriber at the end of their paid period in Stripe and send them the new link, so nobody pays twice.

  5. Test, then turn off Webflow checkout

    order.paid

Pay a sandbox link with Stripe's test card 4242 4242 4242 4242 and check the order in the dashboard. Then in Webflow, disable checkout under Settings, Ecommerce, Checkout, and move the site to a Premium site plan.

FAQ

Questions people ask.

What is the best Webflow Ecommerce alternative?

For a US business that wants to keep its Webflow site, Flint Pay. Your Webflow buttons link to Flint payment links, so the design stays and the Ecommerce plan goes. Flint has no monthly fee, no item limit, and one card rate, 3.79% + 35¢, which covers Stripe's processing, and it adds orders, inventory, promotions, automatic US sales tax, and subscriptions that ship.

What is the Webflow Ecommerce item limit?

Webflow's pricing page lists 500 ecommerce items on Standard, 5,000 on Plus, and 15,000 on Advanced, and counts products, variants, and categories toward them. Each variant counts, so a tee in 3 colors and 5 sizes uses 16 items. A product can have at most 3 option sets and 50 variants. Flint has no plan and no item allowance.

How much does Webflow Ecommerce cost?

Webflow's pricing page lists Standard at $29, Plus at $74, and Advanced at $212 a month billed yearly, or $42, $84, and $235 billed monthly. Standard adds a 2% transaction fee on the order total including tax; Plus and Advanced add none. Stripe or PayPal charges its own processing fees on top, such as Stripe's 2.9% + 30¢ on US cards.

Does Webflow still support subscriptions?

Not for new subscribers. Webflow’s subscriptions required User Accounts, and Webflow set January 29, 2026 as the date User Accounts stopped working on every site. Webflow says subscriptions that already existed stay in your Stripe account and keep charging. To sign up new subscribers from a Webflow site, link a button to a subscription signup link from a billing tool such as Flint. The Webflow subscriptions walkthrough covers existing subscribers too.

Is Flint a good alternative to Webflow Ecommerce?

Yes, for a US business that keeps its Webflow site and sells through its own buttons. At 25 orders of $50 a month, Webflow Standard with Stripe costs $97.75 and a Premium site plan with Flint and automatic tax on every order costs $87.38. Flint doesn't host the site and has no in-person card readers.

Can I keep my Webflow design and checkout with Flint?

You keep every page you designed in Webflow. Buyers pay on Flint's hosted checkout, which opens as its own page from your Buy button and carries your logo and colors. It runs on checkout.withflintpay.com, or on your own subdomain for $15 a month.

Do I need a developer to use Flint with Webflow?

No. From the Flint dashboard you create products with their sizes, colors, and stock counts, bundles, fixed-price items, and subscription plans, make a payment link for each, and paste the links into Webflow buttons. A product with sizes needs one link: buyers pick their size on Flint’s checkout.

Keep the site you designed. Drop the plan it sells on.

Free sandbox, no credit card, no sales call. Create a product, make a payment link, paste it into a Webflow button, and pay it with a test card.
