One rate. No second invoice.
Fees come out of your settlement, never added to the shopper's total. Every tier is the whole product: orders, checkout, payment links, invoices, subscriptions, promotions, tax, refunds, payouts, and webhooks. Anything that costs extra is listed; anything unlisted is included.
One fee, taken out of the money as it settles. There is no platform fee on subscriptions or invoicing, no per-order charge, and no second bill at the end of the month from anyone else in the stack.

02What the rate includes
The rate is the bill, not the processing fee.
A lower card rate somewhere else is the first line of an invoice, not the whole of it. These are the parts of a commerce stack that usually arrive as their own subscription, their own contract, and their own integration. Here they are the rate.
The order record
Line items, discounts, tax, tips, and a running balance that payments settle against. Refunds target items and compute their own tax share.
a table you own, and the reconciliation that comes with it
Subscription billing
Trials, pausing, and dunning on plans that bill through the order record. A renewal is an order, so it refunds and reports like any other sale.
usually its own product, its own contract, its own webhooks
Tax calculation
Recomputed on the order from a postal code, billing address, or tax address, so the number the buyer sees is the number that settles.
usually a metered service billed per calculation
Promotions and coupons
Codes for the simple case and a rules engine for the ones that outgrow them, resolved at checkout against the same order.
usually a separate service, or a discount field you overload
Invoicing
Hosted invoices, reminders, PDFs, manual payment capture, and the events around all of it.
usually a separate product with a per-invoice or seat price
Checkout and payment links
A hosted page, embedded Stripe Elements on your own domain, and reusable links. Every surface settles into the same order.
usually a separate front end you build and keep PCI-scoped
A bare processor is cheaper per charge. If a card rate is the only line you are comparing, it wins. What it does not include is the sale itself. Somebody still has to hold the order, compute the totals, split the tax across a partial refund, decide what a renewal is, and keep all of it agreeing. That work does not disappear when you pick a cheaper rate. It moves onto your team.

$0FAQ
Questions, answered.
Who pays the fee, me or the shopper?
You do. Fees are deducted from your settlement, not added to the shopper's total. The amount the shopper sees at checkout is the amount you charged them.
What counts as a successful transaction?
You pay the per-transaction rate when a payment succeeds. Failed and declined attempts are not charged. The rate applies the same way on every surface: hosted checkout, payment links, invoices, subscription renewals, and direct API payments.
Does my rate change as I grow?
Not on its own. Each tier is one flat card rate at any volume: there are no monthly allowances, no volume steps, and no automatic upgrades. Moving to a lower rate means choosing a different tier, which you do from the dashboard.
Are there monthly fees?
Developer is $0 per month, forever: you pay only when you get paid. Growth is $399 per month, or $299 per month billed annually. Scale starts at $1,499 per month on a one-year agreement. You can switch between Developer and Growth from the dashboard.
Is the sandbox free?
Yes. Sandboxes are free, do not require a card, and never move real money. You only pay the per-transaction rate on successful live payments.
Do payment links, invoices, or subscriptions cost extra?
No. Payment links, invoices, subscriptions, hosted checkout, refunds, webhooks, and analytics are all included at your plan's rate, and subscriptions and invoicing carry no additional platform fee. The one metered item is orders paid externally or manually: Developer includes 20 per calendar month, and past that, marking another order paid this way fails until the month resets or you upgrade. There is no overage charge. Growth and Scale are unlimited.
What does ACH cost?
ACH is one all-in rate per tier, with a $1 minimum and $700 maximum per payment: 0.70% on Developer, 0.60% on Growth, and 0.50% on Scale. There is no separate bank fee stacked on top. The minimum applies when the percentage alone would be less than $1, and the maximum applies when it would exceed $700. Instant bank account verification is $1.50, a failed ACH payment is $4, and an ACH dispute is $15.
Which fees are conditional?
Manually entered cards add 0.50%, international cards add 1.50%, and currency conversion adds 1.00%. These apply the same way on every tier and are the only surcharges on card payments.
Are payouts included?
Standard payouts to your bank account are included at every tier. Instant payouts are not offered today; if payout speed will decide this for you, contact sales.
What happens when a payment fails or is disputed?
Failed and declined attempts are never charged. A failed ACH payment is $4 and an ACH dispute is $15. Card disputes are passed through at cost, with no markup from Flint. Refunds carry no additional fee, though the processing fee on the original payment is not returned.
Do you support buy now, pay later?
Yes. Affirm is 6.99% + 30¢ on Developer, 6.89% + 30¢ on Growth, and 6.79% + 30¢ on Scale. It appears when the merchant enables it and the connected account and transaction are eligible.
When does Scale make sense?
When volume justifies a contracted rate, typically around $400,000 a month and up, or when you need a 99.95% SLA, a named technical contact, and incident escalation. Scale is 3.39% + 30¢ from $1,499 per month on a one-year agreement. On card savings alone it covers the step up from Growth at roughly $550k a month.
