Is Flint a merchant of record like Gumroad?

No, and this is the trade for the lower fee.

Gumroad is a merchant of record: since January 1, 2025, it collects and remits sales tax and VAT in the regions where it has obligations. On Flint you are the merchant of record. Flint calculates US sales tax after discounts for the states where you’re registered, records it on every order line, and charges 0.50% only on payments that carry tax. Registering, filing returns, and paying the tax stay with you.

That fits a US seller who already files sales tax or sells into a few states. A seller who needs a platform to remit VAT in other countries needs a merchant of record.
