03Plans and caps

Why look for a Sellfy alternative?

Two costs grow with you on Sellfy: the plan, which steps up when sales pass each yearly cap, and the processor fees, which sit on top of every plan. On Flint there is no plan to outgrow, and the rate already covers processing.

Sellfy’s Starter plan covers up to $10,000 in sales a year. Past it, Sellfy says you’ll be expected to move to Business ($79 a month, $59 billed yearly, up to $50,000), then Premium ($159, $119 billed yearly, up to $200,000), or it may charge 2% on the revenue over your cap.

Sellfy also leaves US sales tax rates to you: its tax doc says EU VAT is calculated automatically, and for other regions, countries, and states you set the percentages manually. On Flint, connect automatic tax once and turn it on for your orders, and Flint computes US sales tax on each one from the buyer’s location and the states where you’re registered.

  • Processing at 2.9% + 30¢, the rate Sellfy's pricing page gives as typical for Stripe or PayPal.

  • At Business's $50,000 cap (1,000 orders of $50), Sellfy costs $2,458.00 billed yearly or $2,698.00 billed monthly, against $2,245.00 on Flint, or $2,495.00 with automatic tax on every order.

Your site or your links

Flint has no store builder. Sell from the site you run, or share payment links in a bio, a newsletter, or a QR code.

07Switching

How do you move from Sellfy to Flint?

Product by product, so your Sellfy store keeps selling until each link is replaced.

  1. Recreate products

    POST /v1/products

Create each product with its variants. For digital products, keep the file on your own storage and fulfill each order with its download link.

  2. Share payment links

    POST /v1/payment-links

Create a payment link for each product and swap it in for your Sellfy buttons and store links on your site, bio, and newsletter.

  3. Bring subscribers over without a second charge

    POST /v1/subscriptions

Flint has no card import, so each subscriber first saves a card on Flint, in the hosted buyer account or on your own page. Then create their subscription with an imported billing start set to the start of the period they already paid on Sellfy. Flint charges nothing for that period and takes over at the next renewal.

  4. Set up sales tax, then fulfill from order.paid

    order.paid

Add the states where you're registered and turn on automatic tax, then ship from the dashboard or from your server's order.paid handler.
